The five elements affect full color LED Video Wall quality

Affects full color LED Video Wall including following five elements: failure rate, antistatic, fading characteristic, brightness and consistency.

1、Failure rate

For full color LED Video Wall constitute by a hundred thousands group of red, green and blue LED dot pixel any LED color’s failure rate will affect the whole LED Video Wall’s viewing effect. Generally speaking, from assemble to 72 hours aging the failure rate should lower than 0.3‰ according to the experience of LED Video wall field. (The failure by LED device itself)


Light-emitting diode is semi-conductor component that is sensitive to static and very easy to static failure. So antistatic is one of the most important elements to its longevity. Generally, LED failure rate of human body static module test should be lower than 2000v.

3、Fading characteristic

The brightness of red, green and blue LED lamp all have fading characteristic by the increase of working hours. The LED fading rate depends on the advantages and disadvantages of LED chips, auxiliary material quality and the encapsulation technology. Generally speaking, after 1000hours and 20 mA general temperature testing, red LED fading rate should less than 10%,blue and green LED fading rate should less than 15%. Red, green and blue fading consistency has huge affects to LED Video Wall white balance in the future, furthermore, it can influence displays’ fidelity.


The brightness is an important element for the LED Video Wall. The brighter of brightness, the more the current allowance, which is very good for energy saving. LED has different angle value. when the chip brightness is defined, the smaller the angle,  the brighter the LED, and the smaller the viewing angle. Generally, we chose 100 degree LED to guarantee the screen’s viewing angle is proper.
According to different pixel pitch and viewing distance of screens we should find a balance point among brightness, angle and price.
Full color LED Video Wall  is constituted by countless red、green and blue pixel. Each LED color’s brightness and wavelength consistency decide the whole LED Video Wall brightness、white balance and color consistency. Generally speaking, LED Video Wall manufacture requires component provider offer wavelength at 5nm range and LED brightness at the 1:1.3 range. These index can be classification achieved by the testing machine of components provider. No requirement to voltage consistency.
For LEDs have angle, so full color LED Video Wall has angle direction as well.  
When at the different angle, the brightness will increase or decrease by degrees. In this way red, green and blue LED’s angle consistency will severely affect different angle white balance, and fidelity of display directly. In order to reach the consistency of red, green and blue LED at different angle of changeable brightness, which need transparent design on encapsulation and strict technical design from raw material, which depends on the technology of the encapsulation provider. At normal direction if the LED bad angle consistency could cause bad white balance for the LED Video Wall even though the screen has good white balance. So LED angle consistency can be measured by LED integration tester, which is especially important for high-end LED Video Wall display.
